BTS grace the White House and visits President Biden

The band came to bring more awareness to stop anti Asian rhetoric and hate crimes.

BTS - the wildly popular South Korean K-pop group - have used a visit to the White House to speak about the growth in anti-Asian hate crimes in the United States.

The K-pop stars made brief statements to reporters prior to the meeting, calling for a halt to crimes targeting Asian Americans as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the United States finishes.

The singer Park Ji-min, best known as Jimin, spoke ahead of the group's meeting with President Biden.

Since making their debut in 2013, BTS have become known for lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering young people. In 2020, the group donated $1 million towards the Black Lives Matter campaign with their fans matching the amount.
