Depp wins defamation case against Heard
Actor Johnny Depp has won the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Millions of viewers across the globe tuned in to watch the six-week legal battle that saw the two Hollywood stars exchange bitter accusations of physical and emotional abuse.
The jury awarded Depp $15m in total, saying Heard's accusations that she was abused in their marriage were false. But jurors also found that Depp defamed Heard - through his lawyer - and awarded her $2m.
Anousha Sakoui - a reporter for the LA Times - has been covering the trial:
“There really seems to be a judgement by the jury on the credibility of Amber Heard’s testimony… clearly not believing her. She did win one of her claims though.”
