Search continues for pair missing in Amazon
It's been several days since a leading indigenous expert and a British journalist went missing in a remote part of the Brazilian Amazon, with relatives and friends of the pair urging local authorities to step up their search.
Bruno Pereira and Dom Phillips were travelling in the Javari Valley in the north-west of Brazil when they disappeared on Sunday morning.
Sam Cowie is a British journalist in Brazil and knows both Bruno and Dom. He tells Newsday: “Neither of these people are… novices that would have got lost or taken a wrong turn, that’s the reason why people are really, really worried because it’s an extremely hostile environment.”
