India diplomatic row: neighbouring countries respond to Nupur Sharma's comments
In Pakistan, diplomatic tensions are rising with neighbouring India. The governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is under fire for alleged blasphemous comments made by its spokesperson Nupur Sharma about the Muslim Prophet, Muhammad.
The UAE, Oman, Indonesia, Iraq, the Maldives, Jordan, Libya and Bahrain have joined the growing list of countries in the Islamic world that have condemned the remarks.
There have been calls for a boycott from Pakistan and other Islamic nations in response to this.
So what's it all about and what does this mean for future relations in the region?
Newsday spoke to Zeeshan Salahuddin, Director for the Centre for Regional and Global Connectivity at Tabadlab from Islamabad in Pakistan.
