Grenfell Tower tragedy: 'An image is a thousand words; it shows you who these people are'
Photographer Feruza Afewerki lost her sister and niece to the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire and has spent the past two years creating a memoir named 鈥楪old and Ashes鈥. It shares the lives of those who died, the survivors and the local community.
With the fifth-year anniversary approaching, Feruza told 5 Live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanayake that 鈥渋t鈥檚 important that the wider public know about these people, [鈥 it鈥檚 important to see it and not to look away鈥.
She explained she 鈥渃an鈥檛 get over the anger or frustration, but [she] can channel the anger into something- to help heal the community鈥.
[This book] "is probably the only good thing to come out of this鈥.
