Ujeli's story
This monologue is based on the true story of Ujeli, a girl from the remote mountains of Nepal. In April 2015 a large earthquake hit her village and her family lost their home. When we met Ujeli she was living as a displaced person in the nearby village of Selang, about a 4 km drive from the capital, Kathmandu. Ujeli suffers from epilepsy and is vulnerable to child marriage, this monologue imagines the wider context around her experiences.
