‘I haven’t heard that stuff being spoken about before [in Welsh]’
Singer and dancer, Marged Siôn is part of Self Esteem, a group of women singing about female empowerment and confidence. Marged is the subject of a new Welsh-language film, Hunan hyder - meaning self-confidence. It follows her journey through trauma, addiction and recovery after she was raped as a 21-year-old, and shows how performing with Self-Esteem has helped her to heal.
She joined Jessica Creighton on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour to discuss the group’s performance at Glastonbury, supporting Adele at her shows in Hyde Park and why she chose to make a documentary about trauma and sexual assault in the Welsh language.
