Tory Peer: ‘PM's exit has got less and less dignified’
Boris Johnson has resigned as the conservative party leader.
He will remain as the Prime Minister until the autumn to allow a Tory leadership contest to take place.
Tory Peer Lord Robert Hayward tells 5 Live’s Nicky Campbell what he thinks is next for the Conservative party.
“I think there will be serious concern that he will stay until a new pm is found” he says.
“The likely solution is that that Dominic Raab will come in as deputy / pro temp prime minister.”
