Ons Jabeur: first Arab to play in Grand Slam tennis final
Tunisian tennis player, Ons Jabeur, has become the first Arab player to make it to a Grand Slam singles final. She'll battle Elena Rybakina who is the first singles player from Kazakhstan to reach a major final.
Jabeur is nicknamed the Minister of Happiness in Tunisia for the feeling of excitement excitement her career has generated. Newsday’s sports reporter, James Gregg witnessed her historic semi-final win - the first African woman to make the final at Wimbledon in the modern era - and afterwards asked about her hopes for the match.
"A lot of times I imagined myself giving the speech, holding the trophy, seeing the trophy. Now I need to hold the trophy. But I believe in that. I know that I can do it. There's one match left."
