Birmingham2022 volunteers thanked with a party
It’s all over! The Commonwealth Games closing ceremony took place last night at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Monday night.
So many highlights with Coventry represented in the Arena. Panjabi MC and the bhangra dancing and drumming, supermodel Neelam Gill, who was born in the city had a walk-on part AND a great performance from The Selecter with Pauline Black singing On The Radio and telling people about Coventry!
Events took place in our regio. Cycling took place in Warwick, Coventry hosted the Rugby 7s and Judo, whilst Leamington hosted the Bowls.
But behind behind-the-scenes around 14,000 volunteers made the games possible. One of them is Norma Bell from Poets Corner -- she has been driving dignitaries around in a fleet of electric cars and she spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR's Phil Upton.
