Latvian PM: Ukraine in a sense is fighting our war

Latvia is supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia because it could have been in the same position, the country’s Prime Minister, Krisjanis Karins, has told the ѿý.

“We here in Latvia very well understand that the Ukrainians are in a sense fighting our war. They are fighting against Russian imperialism,” he told the Hardtalk programme’s Stephen Sackur.

Latvia has been one of Ukraine’s staunchest allies and has donated more than one third of its military budget to Ukraine to help fight Russia.
