
Ukraine MP worries UK support could wane amid rising energy prices
Kira Rudik says she doubts Putin will "decrease [energy prices] if the war stops".
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine 6 months ago, the UK Government has pledged a total of 拢3.2 billion in military and economic support to Ukraine.
5 Live鈥檚 Stephen Nolan asks Ukrainian MP and leader of the Voice party, Kira Rudik, if she worries support from the UK will wane in the face of a cost-of-living crisis where many are struggling to afford rising energy prices.
鈥淥f course, I鈥檓 worried because that was a part of Putin鈥檚 plan鈥 doubt he鈥檒l decrease [energy prices] if the war stops,鈥 Kira says.
鈥淭he issue we are facing is not Ukraine but with the world鈥檚 dependency on energy resources from one country,鈥 she continues.
