Burkina Faso bomb blast kills 35 civilians
Authorities in the West African country Burkina Faso say that at least 35 civilians have been killed by a bomb, which hit a convoy of vehicles in the north of the country where jihadist rebels are active.
Convoys escorted by Burkina Faso's army are used to deliver supplies to towns that are otherwise cut off by jihadists.
Dozens of others were wounded in the blast on the road between Djibo and Bourzanga.
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s reporter Lalla Sy provided Newsday with the latest details on the event, saying: "Thirty-five victims were mainly traders who were going to buy supplies in Ouagadougou, and also students who were returning to the capital for the schools opening next week."
