Personal finance expert Martin Lewis says he 鈥渧ery much welcomes鈥� plans to tackle high energy bills by the government.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanakaye, he says nobody in government has spoken to him about their proposed plans, but based on leaked and rumoured plans, consumers should have 鈥減eace of mind鈥�.

鈥淲e can argue they鈥檙e expensive,鈥� he says, 鈥渨e can argue they aren鈥檛 targeted鈥� but it will fulfil giving people a sigh of relief that they are able to pay their energy bills in the short term.鈥�
