'The Queen was an enigma and a monument that was never going away'

Leaders around the world are paying tribute following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022.

The Queen served as head of the Commonwealth for many years, including many African nations until her passing on Thursday.

In Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is former first lady and widow of Jerry Rawlings, president of Ghana between 1979 and 2001.

She remembers meeting the Queen and explains how she inspired many Ghanaians: "She had an interesting sense of humour that kept all of us laughing about everything she did, and everything she said. She is definitely going to be missed greatly."
