Elon Musk Twitter deal is back on
Billionaire Elon Musk has apparently changed his mind about buying Twitter, again, and is now willing to proceed with his takeover of the social media platform.
Billionaire Elon Musk appears to have changed his mind and has agreed to pay the price he offered months ago before attempting to back out of the deal. The reversal comes just weeks before the two sides were scheduled to appear in court.
In the letter, attorneys for Mr Musk said he intended to move ahead to complete the transaction, pending receipt of the financing and an end of the legal fight.
Tim Higgins, Wall Street Journal reporter and author of Power Play: Elon Musk, Tesla, and the Bet of the Century joined Newsday live from San Fransico.
He says, "It's clear from some of his statements over the last few months, he sees Twitter for accelerating his vision for potentially a new kind of so-called super app, something like a WeChat in China, where one's digital life revolves around not only communication such as Twitter already, but commerce, more entertainment, seeing the exciting things you see on TikTok perhaps, really a place where you can do lot of business and a lot of commerce, and Twitter could potentially capture all of that."
