Relay takes baton from Glasgow to COP27
Participants in the 'Running Out of Time' relay have closed-in on their final destination of Sharm el-Sheikh with a message of urgency on climate action to leaders gathering at COP27.
The relay route has covered 7,267 kilometres and 18 countries, beginning in Glasgow in Scotland, which hosted COP26.
Jamie Hay is the founder of the Running Out of Time relay. He told Newsday: “Young people came up with a message that’s…inside the baton and…was delivered to world leaders…It’s calling for policy change…funding…training…everything that world leaders need to put in place to ensure there’s quality climate education for everyone.”
