Former doctor: 'No nurse in the country will be pleased to strike'
Author and former doctor Adam Kay says he supports his nursing colleagues who have voted to go on strike.
The walkout will involve Royal College of Nursing members in more than half of hospitals and community teams, but emergency care will still be staffed.
"No nurse in the country will be pleased [to strike]," he says, "I hope against hope that prior to the moment of that strike, the government can make an appropriate and acceptable deal."
"Thanking the NHS isn't about standing outside downing street and banging a pan, it's putting your money where your mouth is."
