Dark Waters Exhibition
"Experience the power of the sea through paintings, sketches and an immersive sound environment"
The Dark Waters exhibition at the Tate Liverpool features the work of JMW Turner.
Turner’s work is presented within an immersive sound environment created by artist and musician, Lamin Fofana.
Although creating work centuries apart, both artists convey the power and politics of the ocean and explore its relationship to capitalism and colonialism. Turner’s paintings focus on the dangers of the waters around the British coast and Fofana’s sound work looks across the Atlantic.
For ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Merseyside's Popular Music Show, show associate and musician Gen Baker recorded her thoughts on the exhibition.
The exhibition is at Tate Liverpool to June 2023.
Presented and produced by Roger Hill.
