A former teacher in Australia has been jailed for 24 years for the murder of his wife 40-years ago in a case that was the subject of a popular crime podcast.

Chris Dawson, who鈥檚 now 74, has been convicted of killing his wife Lynette Dawson, whose 1982 disappearance was chronicled by Australian podcast The Teacher's Pet. It released new evidence that assisted in the conviction.

Hedley Thomas is the man behind the podcast. He says "the intimacy that people feel with podcasts really grabs them and makes a big difference."
