Dambuster George 'Johnny' Johnson remembered
Our last Dambuster has died. Hear him describe the daring raid in his own words. The "Dambusters" mission was one of the most dangerous air operations of the war, with 53 men killed and three captured. Johnny, who was born in Lincolnshire and lived in Bristol, was just 21 when he took part in the 1943 operation. After a long campaign, he was made an MBE in 2017 for his services to World War Two.
