Ciabatta: Born to battle the baguette
In 1982, Italian rally car driver, Arnaldo Cavallari, decides to create a new form of bread. He's sick of the popularity of the French baguette.
Cavallari eventually creates a bread and decides to call it 'ciabatta', Italian for 'slipper', due to its shape.
