The Sussex couple who found a lizard in a bag of spinach
A lizard survived for nine days in a fridge, hidden in a packet of spinach.
Katherine and James Bacon from Haywards Heath spotted the reptile’s belly pressed up against the sealed packaging when they were preparing breakfast.
Lidl say they were sorry to learn about this and have been in touch with the customer and launched an investigation. It was taken away by the RSPCA in Brighton and a worker there hopes to adopt it after a 30-day quarantine.
Danny Pike spoke to James about the unusual discovery.
