‘We’ve managed to place 6,000 defibrillators across our country, and we’ve saved 68 lives’
20,000 defibrillators are now being distributed to schools in England.
Mark King’s 12-year-old son Oliver died after his heart stopped during a school swimming lesson in 2011.
Speaking to 5 Live’s Clare McDonnell, Mark said: “I’m a dad on a mission to stop any other parents going through what we’ve been through.
“We’ve managed to place 6,000 defibrillators across our country.â€
Mark has been campaigning for over a decade to get defibrillators out into schools.
“It’s a monumental day for the foundation.â€
The Oliver King Foundation launched in 2012 and is improving access to the devices.
“It’s Oliver’s legacy.â€
