Losing a parent: ‘I feel like people could have been there more to help’

Immy Leith lost her mum when she was 10 years old.

She is now 12 and she has been campaigning to get lessons in how to deal with losing a parent taught in the classroom.

Speaking to 5 Live’s Tony Livesey, Immy says: “When it was time to go back to school, I feel like people could have been there more to help.

“I think it should be discussed more within schools.â€

“We see grief as a process that we want to travel through. Because if we don't, these things stack up, says Immy’s dad Richard.â€
