Education secretary: 'I value the job teachers do massively'

Secretary of State for Education Gillian Keegan says she values the role of teachers and teaching assistants.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live's Naga Munchetty, she says the country can't have a "world class education system" without having world class teachers.

When asked about reports teaching assistants earn less than supermarket workers, Ms Keegan says she doesn't "accept" the claims and that local authorities are in charge of the rates of pay.
