Turkey-Syria quake: How should children's urgent needs be met?

The earthquake in Turkey and Syria has affected more than 7 million children who are now in urgent need. Many of them are homeless and living in freezing makeshift camps. But beyond safety and a place to stay, experts say they need education and a form of classroom routine to give some normalcy. Joe English of the United Nations children's fund UNICEF said it was beyond imaginable what the children have experienced in the past week and it is now critical to get them back into school, into pre-fabricated classrooms and tents as it provides an essential schedule and sense of normalcy. Parents will know they are safe and warm and getting a hot meal. It also allows children to begin to unpack the trauma they have been through with dedicated professionals.
