East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader speaks for Yorkshire & the Humber councils on health and social care
The leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council has taken on an additional role as Lead Council Leader in Yorkshire & the Humber on Health & Social Care. Councillor Jonathan Owen will act as a single voice for all local authorities across the region on issues involving health and care services. He's been speaking to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Political Reporter Sarah Sanderson about how this role came about and how cross-party council leaders across Yorkshire & the Humber would like to see a 'fairer funding system' overall regarding adult social care. With a record £7.5 billion promised to social care over the next two years – the biggest funding increase in history – we are committed to addressing workforce pressures and supporting a more joined-up and patient-focused health and care system.â€
