'He's housebound at the moment until the lift is working again'.

The lift at Gibson Court in Harlow has been out of action for more than a month.

Sinead Juhas got in touch with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Essex about her parents living situation. Her father needs a lift to leave the house and her mum struggled to bring the shopping up three flights of stairs.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Essex's Sonia Watson spoke to Sinead Juhas.

Statement from Gerri Scott, Executive Director of Customer Service:
“We’re so sorry to hear about Paul and Rosemary’s health issues, and we’ll be reaching out to them again to discuss how we can support them.
“We contacted residents before we started replacing the lift on 23 January 2023 to discuss the works we needed to carry out. Our team visited every household, and spoke with vulnerable residents about how we could support them, including offering to find them a temporary home for the duration of works. Paul and Rosemary did not wish to move at that time.
“We expect that the new lift will be fully installed and working again by mid-March. We understand how inconvenient this will have been for residents living in the building, and will remain in contact with the family and other residents of Gibson Court.â€
