The Republican's war against Disneyland
Ron DeSantis, the Florida Governor, signed legislation on Monday that takes control of a special tax district surrounding Walt Disney World that has allowed Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) to operate with a high degree of autonomy for the past half-century.
DeSantis during a press event said “The corporate kingdom finally comes to an end,”
Last year, state Republicans targeted Disney after it publicly clashed with DeSantis, who is widely expected to run for president in 2024, over a law that restricts gender and sexual orientation classroom instruction, dubbed the "Don't Say Gay" measure by its opponents.
