Ukrainians wake up to a wave of air strikes
Air raid sirens sounded in many places in Ukraine overnight with Russian missiles hitting several cities, including Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv.
More than 80 Russian missiles have been fired at cities across Ukraine in the sustained overnight barrage.
Emergency services in Kyiv are at the scenes of blasts in western and southern districts of the capital - people have been urged to stay in shelters.
Inna Sovsun, an Ukrainian MP and former deputy minister for education and science, who woke up to the air strikes in the capital Kyiv, says Russians targeted energy sources.
But Russia's main goal with this fresh attack was to "make sure that Ukrainians feel that it isn't safe here, that it isn't safe to stay here, that they should feel scared all the time."
