Court delays highest on record
New figures released by the Ministry of Justice shows average waiting times for cases in our Crown Courts are the highest since records began. It means delays for victims, witnesses and defendants.
Hezron Stephenson suffered a homophobic attack in the Bull Yard, Coventry in 2019. After multiple court delays the suspects appeared in court just last year. Some pleaded guilty and one was found guilty after a trial. However sentancing still hasn't taken place - that's due to happen in July more than four years after the attack. We hear from him and the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster.
