鈥楥hina wants to cut Taiwan off from the world鈥�
China says its military drills around Taiwan, now into a third day, are simulating sealing off the island.
The display of force is Beijing's angry reponse to a visit by the Taiwanese president to the US.
Tingting Liu is a foreign affairs and defence reporter in Taiwan. She told Newsday: 鈥淚n the past 52 hours, there鈥檚 a total of 200 People鈥檚 Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft鈥�11 PLA navy vessels鈥our J-15 PLA fighter jets鈥he PLA is actually practising how to cut off Taiwan from the rest of the world.鈥�
