For some ten months, Bakhmut, a small industrial city in eastern Ukraine has been pounded by Russian forces.

Before the invasion, there were about 70,000 people living there.

However, according to Liudmyla Buimister, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and a Sergeant in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 鈥渢he city is not a city anymore鈥�. She told Newsday: 鈥淲e should just think about it as a typographic point on a military map.鈥�
