Ukrainian teenager celebrates Liverpool's Eurovision
14-year-old pianist Alisa fled Ukraine with her mother when the war began. They left their home in Kharkiv after the city was bombed. She used her music to lift spirits in refugee camps in Ukraine and Poland, before moving to stay with a host family in Wirral. Alisa played piano in Liverpool ONE during the Eurovision Song Contest to show their gratitude to the host city and the importance of retaining Ukrainian culture and national identity in a time of war.
