It started with a kiss
Scientists had previously thought humans started kissing about three and a half thousand years ago.
But now new research published in the journal Science suggests there's evidence from a thousand years before that - and the evidence is written in clay tablets from Mesopotamia in what's now Iraq and Syria.
Newshour's Tim Franks has been speaking to Dr Troels Pank Arbøll, assistant professor of Assyriology at the University of Copenhagen.
