Why F-16 fighter jets are significant for Ukraine
European allies have welcomed Friday night's announcement by the United States that it will allow Ukrainian pilots to train on American-made F-16 fighter jets.Â
President Biden's agreement paves the way for countries like the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark to give Ukraine some of their own planes. Ukraine's President Zelensky has long campaigned for such help in its ongoing war with Russia.
Yuriy Sak, adviser to Ukraine's Minister of Defence, explains how significant a development this is for Ukraine.
