The Southern Vipers lost to The Blaze by five wickets with two balls to spare in Derby. Their total of 118 all out was in Adams' opinion "five to ten runs short, of an interesting game." So it prooved as Tammy Beamont (49*) steered the home side to victory. The vipers had got off to another fast start but lost all ten wickets for just 74 runs. The Blaze were made to work hard throughout, but over number 12 conceeded 25 runs which ultimately decided the outcome.
