The world’s only known albino giant anteater

Conservationists have released photos of the only known living albino giant anteater on Earth.

Researchers from Anteaters and Highways Project (AHP) investigating the anteater road deaths, came across the anteater on a ranch in Brazil's Mato Grosso do Sul state. They named the unique animal Alvin.

Dr Debora Yogui is a veterinarian working on the project. She told Newsday that Alvin was discovered by cowboys in Brazil who “saw the mother with normal dark colours carrying a white baby”.

“He’s beautiful but…with this white colour he’s less able to camouflage into the landscape.”
