Bristol's Beagle 2 space pioneer - 20 years on
Professor Colin Pillinger, the Bristol-born scientist is best known as the leader of the Beagle 2 project, the attempt - in the face of opposition - to land a British spacecraft on Mars. He was involved in ground-breaking scientific research for over 40 years.
He analysed the original Apollo 11 moon rocks, was one the of the first to classify asteroids as being from Mars and with the Beagle 2 mission reignited the United Kingdom’s love for space exploration.
Told through archive interviews and recordings of Colin plus new interviews with those who knew him best - "Out of this World" tells Colin's incredible life.
