Estonia gay marriage: 'The law means that my country respects me'
Estonia has become the first ex-Soviet state - and only the second country in Central and Eastern Europe - to legalise same-sex marriage. The amendment to the country's Marriage Act was passed with a clear majority in parliament, just two months after the liberal coalition government under Prime Minister Kaja Kallas took office.
Newshour’s James Menendez spoke to Silja Oja who lives in the capital Tallinn with her female partner, about what this change in the law means for her family.
