All but one living US president had slaveholding ancestors - study
A new investigation has found that more than 100 political leaders in the US are direct descendants of slaveholders.
The list includes almost a fifth of the nation’s senators and congressional representatives, all living presidents apart from Donald Trump, two of the nine Supreme Court justices, and 11 state governors.
Reuters journalist Tom Lasseter, who led the reporting, told Newsday's Victoria Uwonkunda about the findings.
