As the NHS turns 75, Professor Cam Donaldson looks at the German healthcare system and how it could be applied to the UK.

Talking to 5 Live鈥檚 Nicky Campbell, Cam said 鈥渢he German system is one of the best in the world, [but currently it] would be disastrous for us to be switched to that system鈥�.

鈥淐ould you imagine how long it could take to reform our whole system, the collection of money to mimic Germany鈥� really the money is coming from taxation- the same as what we have in the UK.鈥�

Discussing the German鈥檚 healthcare process, Cam added 鈥渢he difference is, Germans spend 1.5-2% more of their national income on their healthcare system than we do鈥�.
