Ukraine's 'safest city' of Lviv hit by Russian rocket

A Russian missile has hit an apartment block in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, which is close to the border of Poland. Officials say at least 4 people are dead.

Video footage appears to show casualties covered in dust being carried from the rubble, and emergency services are working to clear up the debris.

Dr Sasha Dovzhyk is a writer and curator at the Ukrainian Institute London, and spoke to Newsday from Lviv.

"I was approximately 2km away... when the missile hit the residential buildings the walls in the building where I was hiding shook."

"This city is considered one of the safest cities in Ukraine but as we know... there is no such safe place in the country anymore."
