AI: 'The pace of change is now faster than we've ever seen before'
PWC tech leader Rob McCargow says the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the workplace is a positive move, but "there is a risk AI will create a two-tier workforce" within jobs.
In the past six months, chatbots, like ChatGPT, and image generators, such as Midjourney, have become increasingly popular in day-to-day life.
Rob tells 5 Live's Breakfast "certain tasks do become more liable for automation... but new opportunities come through to craft new shapes of jobs in the future".
Discussing the rate of growth within the industry, he says "less than half of workers believe that AI will actually impact their job in the next five years... [but] we are at an inflection point within tech".
"The pace of change is now faster than we've ever seen before".
