Surrey golf coach Stuart Cartwright says the arrival of the Women's Open to Walton Heath Golf Club will only go further to increase the popularity of the sport.
According to research from The Royal and Ancient Golf Club and ‘England golf’, participation in the sport last year rose by 265,000 to 5.6 million and 20% of players were female.
