Brain tumour: ‘I was having to learn to walk again’

Lottie Pink underwent treatment on the NHS for a brain tumour when she was seven years old.

Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, she said: “I was so nervous because when I'd had the brain tumour taken out, it had relieved a lot of pressure on my brain.

“That meant that I was having to learn to do a lot of things again that I'd learnt to do with the pressure, such as walking.”

Lottie was so inspired by the physiotherapist who aided her rehabilitation all those years ago that she is now training to become one herself.

She is 21 and is about to enter her final year at the University of Winchester.

Lottie reached out on social media to her former physiotherapist Sinead Barkey and the two reconnected but haven't actually spoken over the phone until now, on 5 Live.

“Sinead was just the loveliest person”.
