Funding to help reduce Greater Manchester ambulance times

Having to wait hours for an ambulance after calling 999 is a sad reality for many people in Greater Manchester, simply because of the extreme pressure the NHS is often under.

Last winter was especially bad, with record waiting times and paramedics often spending hours sat outside hospitals because of a lack of space for patients.

But ambulance managers in Greater Manchester are hoping that extra funding and extra staff will mean that patients are not having to wait as long in an emergency this winter.
