After becoming newly widowed and being given a MS diagnosis, a 71-year-old from Weston-super-Mare has become a competitive powerlifter.

Peeps Nicol has already took part in some novice competitions and thinks it鈥檚 a great thing to do to improve your cognitive function as you get older.

Peeps told 5 Live Drive鈥檚 Tony Livesey: 鈥淭he adrenaline when you hear 鈥榖ar loaded for Peeps鈥欌�� it was really quite exciting鈥�.

She credits her new-found hobby as acting as a real boost to her confidence, adding 鈥淚 feel really good about myself, I鈥檓 the best I鈥檝e ever been I think鈥�.
