Sir Chris Hoy: “It’s going to be the biggest cycling event in history”

The first ever combined UCI Cycling World Championships officially began in Scotland on Thursday.

Former Olympian Sir Chris Hoy joined Rick Edwards on ѿý Radio 5 Live Breakfast to talk about what he’s looking forward to the most from the competition.

"It's going to be the biggest cycling event in history," Chris added.

The gold medal winner gave special mention to double Olympic champion and multiple world champion cyclist Katie Archibald, who tragically lost her partner, fellow cyclist Rab Wardell, in August last year.

“If I could pick out one thing it would be the reception that she’s going to receive from the home crowd here”.

The UCI cycling world championships will be live across the ѿý on ѿý Two, iPlayer and the ѿý Sport website.
